The first trailer for The Rum Diary starring Johnny Depp. In this movie, Johnny Depp plays Paul Kemp, and brings him back to the world of Hunter S. Thompson.

The movie follows a free lance journalist (Depp) named Paul Kemp who finds himself at a critical turning point in his life while writing for a run-down newspaper in the Caribbean. Paul is challenged on many levels as he tries to carve out a more secure niche for himself amidst a group of lost souls all bent on self-destruction.

The Rum Diary will be released in theaters October 28, 2011.
